Breast Lift vs Augmentation: Which Is Right For You?

Mark Kohout - Friday, August 23, 2013

Understanding the pros and cons of breast lift and breast augmentation surgery is important to get the result that is right for you, said Florida plastic surgeon Dr Scott Ennis. Dr Ennis advised patients to use a board-certified plastic surgeon. A breast lift sets out to improve the shape and position of the breast. It is popular among mothers whose breasts have sagged or lost their shape due to breast-feeding. The procedure requires the surgeon repositioning the nipple, lifting but does not increasing the volume of the breast, which gives the breast an overall perkier appearance. Breast augmentation, on the other hand, will increase the breasts volume but not their perkiness. This procedure does not create lift, although it may have a slight impact on a sagging breast. Breast augmentation is one of the world’s most commonly performed plastic surgeries. Patients do not have to choose one over the other. Dr Ennis advised that a mixture of both will deliver both volume and lift.
