Eyelid Surgery Examined

Mark Kohout - Wednesday, August 28, 2013
Eyelid surgery is one of the most common cosmetic procedures available to patients. However, like all forms of facial surgery, any potential complications can drastically alter one’s looks. Dr Michael Bogdan, a Dallas based surgeon, urged his patients to carefully consider this form of surgery and is hoping to educate the public about potential risks and rewards. Upper eyelid surgery is used to hide sagging eyelids that come about as a result of aging. Small incisions are made in the eyelids’ natural folds. The lids are then pulled tight to provide a more youthful appearance. Dr Bogdan explained that techniques have advanced to mitigate scarring but suggested patients apply makeup to completely hide the scars. Lower eyelid surgery can remove bags or dark circles that come from poor complexion, a lack of sleep and excessive stress. Dr Bogdan said this procedure is generally easier to perform and it is easier to hide visible scarring. A chemical peel or the removal of excess skin is generally used in concert with the procedure to optimal results. http://www.cosmeticsurgerymagazine.com/postview.cfm/POSTID/801
