Plastic Surgeons Lift Lid on Work

Plastic surgery is much more than simply cosmetic enhancement, according to a leading group of plastic surgeons in the United States. Although many people think of plastic surgery largely as liposuction and tummy tucks, it is a wider field and one that encompasses reconstructive procedures as well as aesthetic enhancements, according to the team at Green Bay Plastic Surgical Associates. The most commonly performed procedures at their practice include breast augmentation and a range of anti-aging treatments, such as Botox and fillers. The team at Green Bay carries out more reconstructive work than cosmetic, with reconstructive surgery making up 60% of the workload. According to Green Bay Press Gazette, hand surgery and work to reconstruct faces following skin cancers are two areas of plastic surgery often overlooked by people. Thanks to the advances in plastic surgery over the last 50 years, it is now possible to carry out procedures such as face transplants, which would previously have been impossible.
