No more waxing.  No more painful electrolysis.  Hair removal using a laser is the only way to reliably and permanently reduce unwanted body hair.  Now, the most long lasting and efficient way to remove unwanted hair permanently is with Laser technology.

Why is LaserSmooth better than other ways of removing hair?
Shaving, plucking and waxing, are all only short term solutions.  Up until recently the only other way to remove hair has been electrolysis, which is both time consuming and expensive because each hair has to treated individually.  The LaserSmooth diode laser treats dozens of hair follicle at the same time and up to three treatment per second are possible.  The result is much faster treatment.  LaserSmooth uses state of the art fourth generation Laser Technology with a unique low pulse cooling head.  This prevents overheating and provides maximum protection to your skin.  Unlike many other lasers, LaserSmooth can treat a wide variety of skin types including dark skinned or tanned people.

Is it effective?
The long pulse diode laser is the most advanced hair removal laser available.  It supersedes other laser systems in a combination of efficacy and safety.  It is also much more effective than conventional treatments, most of which are only temporary.  The treatments work most effectively on dark hair: the laser relies on the pigment in the hair to deactivate the hair root.  You can expect around 50% reduction in the hair density and hair coarseness after only two treatments.  Laser treatments are less effective on light-coloured hair and ineffective on blond or grey hair.

How does laser hair removal work?
The LaserSmooth laser system emits a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair follicle where it is absorbed.  The energy is transformed into heat which will disable the hair follicle.  The skin 's surface is protected and kept cool with pre and post cooling to provide increased comfort.

Is it safe?
Yes. It is safe on all types of skin including pigmented skin. This is one of the great advantages of the LaserSmooth Laser over many other laser systems.

Is it painful?
No.  Each laser pulse feels like a mild sting, which is immediately soothed by the cooling device in the handpiece.  However, anaesthetic cream can be applied should you find the procedure uncomfortable.

What happens at treatment time?
On your first visit your consultant will plan a treatment programme to suit your skin and hair type. During treatment your hair is shaved to concentrate the laser light into the hair roots. A cool gel is applied and the laser is then administered by a small hand piece, which also cools the skin. Safety glasses are worn by you and the operator.  At the end of the treatment soothing herbal lotion is applied to the skin.

Which body areas can be treated?
The commonest treated areas are bikini line, underarms, top and bottom lip, legs and male back and chest.  However, all areas of the body can be treated with the exception of areas close to the eyes, inside the ear canal and the nose.

How many sessions will I need?
Treatment time varies depending on the area being treated. The number of sessions required also depends on hair and skin type and the location to be treated. A complete course of treatments is required for best results. The exact number of treatments varies but 3 -6 treatments are needed for optimal results.

What happens after each treatment?
There may be a little redness and sensitivity following treatment, which can last for a few minutes or several days depending on your skin.  You can resume your normal activities or return to work straight after treatment.
