What does labioplasty involve?
First, you’ll have a consultation with Dr Kohout. You’ll be able to ask him lots of questions about your surgery. You’ll discuss what results you’d like, and he will let you know what can be achieved and make recommendations. Dr Kohout is a very experienced surgeon who will be able to put your mind at ease about any of your concerns about surgery. The actual procedure takes around 60 to 90 minutes, and you’ll be able to go home within a few hours. You don’t need to do any preparation, although we do recommend shaving or waxing before surgery as this will help you to keep your stitches clean later. The stitches dissolve so you won’t need to come in have them removed.
Dr. Kohout prefers to use the Wedge or triangular technique as it usually gives more natural looking results with virtually invisible scars.
After your surgery you just need to keep the area really clean and take it easy for a few days. You’ll be a little swollen and bruised at first, and may need some painkillers to relieve some discomfort, but within several weeks you’ll feel back to normal. You can even have sex after about six weeks!
